Good morning my crafty friends. This is where my stitching was last time
and here is how it looked yesterday.
This particular block has been a nightmare. It is supposedly complete now however there are two mistakes on the left hand side. The bird is in the wrong place but its staying where it is -I just cannot face frogging l over 1 again. The other mistake I did not even notice until the picture had been downloaded The dragonfly is just done in normal cross stitch. If you compare it with the one on the right you will notice that is done as a Smyrna stitch. The line below the cats should have been done with two threads and it was called sprat stitch. I really did not like this but my friend advised doing it with one so it was taken out and started again. I did look better though I still did not like it and in the end I did a rice stitch over 4 threads which to my mind looks better. I have now started on the fence. This is the last big block with just a thin line of another special stitch below it so with any luck I could be happy dancing next time. There are a few bees and ladybirds done in one over one but mainly its normal cross stitch in this block so here’s hoping that it goes easier than the last block, which to be fair is the only one I have had trouble with.
Why not visit the others and see what they are working on – whilst most are doing cross stitch or embroidery there are other stitching skills included too so lots of things of interest there.

It’s lovely to have all the different stitches and if you’ve changed some to suit your own taste it means you have a unique piece 🙂

I am hoping I will have more time in the next three weeks Jenny. But I still seem to be making face masks and catching up on cards, so fingers crossed. xx

You’ve made it your own work, which I think is to be applauded. I hope the next section goes much more smoothly for you. ❤

Ha ha Sue, most things end up as my own work Sue, as I am a devil for altering things to suit me. x

You powered through that bit of difficulty Helen, I didn’t see the mistakes until you pointed them out, so I think you are doing great! On to the finish.🙂

I think it’s lovely – no one else will see your little mistakes, I stitched a sampler once and made a couple of big counting errors, for years that was all I could see, now I can’t even find them!! Well done for keeping at it 🙂

It’s a lovely piece with so much detail. I think once it is done the mistakes won’t be noticeable at all. Those squirrels are my favorite on the beehives and heart balloons 🙂

I think it’s lovely … and I adore those squirrels. Maybe the bird on the left was just a tiny bit late to get into position. 🙂

You are right to choose the points you like! it’s good to try but, in my opinion, we need to embroider calmly! I like it very much …

Good decision not to unpick the over one error. No one will ever notice it but you.
