Good morning my crafty friends. After feeling completely fed up with Garden Alphabet last time I thought I would just put it away for a bit and do something else. The something else was Kathy’s Little Hardanger Sal which I soon completed. I sorted through some other bits and bobs but nothing seemed to catch my eye. Then on Monday I suddenly got GA out again and started stitching and for the first time in ages I enjoyed it. I have not had a lot of time this week but it has progressed quite a bit since last time and here it is. Still quite a bit to go to finish Y but there is no rush, I am once again enjoying it and I am not going to put myself under pressure and spoil that feeling.
This is a wonderful SAL with each person tackling their own project so lots of interesting things to see. Why not pop along and have a look but do allow time for those in other parts of the world to catch up – we are a very International group here.
Avis, Claire, Gun, Carole, Sue, Constanze, Debbierose, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Linda, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Hayley, Megan, Catherine, Deborah, Connie, Clare, Mary Margaret, Renee, Jenny, Carmela, Jocelyn, Sharon
Thank you for your visit and do hope you enjoy looking at everyone elses work
Hugs
Oh hurrah! I love this piece and watching it grow, though maybe I wouldn’t like stitching it quite as much?! Y is looking good, and only Z and some border left? I’d love to see a full picture again, you have done so much on this in the past year!

A couple of people are looking forward to it being finished and seeing the whole thing but do not want and early spoilers so I said I would just show the bits I had worked on till it was done. Sorry to disappoint you but cant go back on my word now lol.

Thank you Sharon. As its getting close to the end now I am trying not to reveal too much as some people have said they don’t want to see the whole thing again until the big reveal when its complete. Helen x

well done Helen! You were amazingly productive with Learning Hardanger skills, so I’m surprised you managed to find time to work on the SAL project at all!

Lol Claire, sorry but I wasn’t a learner I just joined to support Kathy. I have done hardanger for years in fact you may soon see some more as I have been asked if I could show a picture of those I had previously done by someone who saw a peek of one behind one of my pictures.

It’s good to take a little break and return to a project with rejuvenation for the design. Love the colors on this letter 🙂

Sounds like you just needed a break to spur you on. A change is as good as a rest so they say. It’s looking lovely. You’re almost there with the letters 🙂

Yes next time I am going to have two projects on the go – not really a rota but each getting a little break whilst I work on the other so I am always refreshed. See if that works as I do think some of the problem is its taken so long I am getting bored. This happened with Gracious Era too.

Love the colours on this piece. I must admit that I chop and change my feelings about a piece when I am sewing too.

Yes, sometimes a project just needs fresh eyes on it. My interest sometimes wanes and then returns. I don’t know why that happens. But it will be wonderful to keep working on this great project of yours.

You’re so right, sometimes taking a little break from a project is all you need. I’m excited to see this piece in full — but only when it’s done. No spoilers!
