Good morning my crafty friends. With January gone I thought it was time for a card update. I made 19 birthday cards and 15 Christmas cards for the month, all of the latter being recycled cards. I have kept to my selfmade challenge of using something new, either dies stamps or techniques on all the cards I have made so I’m happy with that.
Firstly here are 4 birthday cards you have not seen yet. This first is for my friend Terri’s grandson who will be two this month and features the “Toot Toot” stamps from Woodware, the two seagulls are part of this set.Two more cards the first I used a piece of Hunkydory card I had left – the other half being used a good while back, so whilst technically not upcycled but certainly using rather than going to waste. The second was using a stamp from Cats & Dogs set which I bought at The Works and cost me a whole £1. I have had this a while too.
And lastly a card using a beautiful die cut set I acquired recently.
Now on to Christmas cards which are all recycled. Only the first needs any explanation, and that is because I didn’t follow my own mantra of not crafting when you are tired. I wanted an aperture card so used the outer die from Eve to cut it, only to realise that I had been busy trying to get it centred correctly and had put it through my machine with the card still folded. This meant I had a whole in the back of the card as well as the front. The original idea being to stick the recycled card behind the aperture and add an insert. I had a thunk (as hubby calls it) and printed of a greeting which would also fit the aperture and here is what I ended up with – showing back and front –
the rest all speak for themselves I think.
I shall be back on Sunday to share this times progress on Garden Alphabet.
