SAL Sunday – 2018 30th September

Good morning dear friends.  Firstly, if you didn’t see my last post then I have to apologise to the many members I never got to visit last time. (see my last post for an explanation).

Surprise, surprise I actually got something to show for this weeks SAL;  I have completed V for Violet and here she is:- 16. 2018.9.23I really like this one and it was a enjoyable stitching, just what I needed.  Unfortunately next time it has to be back to the boring green as the right hand border now needs to be tackled.  In the meantime why not pop and visit the other members of the SAL.  We all work on our own individual stitching and there are some amazing projects taking place, just allow for the fact that we are scattered all around the world so there are time differences that need to be allowed for.

Avis, Claire, Gun, Carole, LucyAnn, Kate, Jess, Sue, Constanze, Debbierose, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Helen, Steph, Linda, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Hayley, Tony, Megan, Catherine, Deborah, Connie

Thanks for visiting

Hugs

About stitchingranny

I am one of those people who need to have busy hands so whether its stitching or papercrafting, I am always doing something. I also love being in the garden, though hubby does most of the work there these days.

    lovely, Helen!
does this mean you’re close to a finish? or are there more animals and borders to stitch?

I think we should start a violet lovers’ club, because they’re one of my favorites, too! So glad you had some time to stitch on it.

    • The tiny woodland variety run wild in my garden seeding themselves everywhere and I do love them but then I love flowers full stop, and try to plant far too many varieties in my little garden. Its a bit like one of those patchwork quilts where they have inch square fabrics of every colour and design all clashing happily together

I’m glad you are back online, Helen. The violet had to be a treat to stitch, a great reward for tackling the border. Maybe a chunk of border, or a color, then another letter as a reward?

  8. Yep, I’m a lover of violets too. Let’s all join a club 🙂 Beautiful stitching. I hope your internet problems are finally over.

    • I don’t think there is a flower I don’t love and think the only weed I can really dig out without worrying is a dandylion (though I love to see them growing in the hedgerow and love the little clocks they produce).

After having become so reliant on computers and the internet it is a huge challenge when something goes wrong that you can’t fix on your own. I’m still using an auxiliary keyboard because I can’t bear the thought of being without my laptop altogether while the keyboard is cleaned or replaced. (They said it would take at least a week to even get to it!) Meanwhile, I know all about your mojo going off to play in the fields and then finally returning when the weather turns cooler (and wetter in our case). Glad to see the happy little violets you’ve stitched!

    • They are such happy little flowers. Technology rules our lives and its hard to imagine that when I was younger I had a long walk to the phone box if I needed to call anyone. Not that many people I knew had a phone to be able to call them lol.

Count me in to the Violet Appreciation Society! When faced with a section I’m not enjoying on a project, I bribe myself … do a couple of thread length’s worth of outline, then I get to do some filling in… and so on! Glad you got your internet connection back, and, hopefully, your stitching mojo!

Very pretty. I hope you’ve got a ‘carrot’ to help you through the border!
