I have been stitching and at least this time I can say I have made a little progress. I am still not enjoying stitching the border but as my friend Terri says, its no different to stitching anything else, just one cross after another lol. With that in mind I have tried to be good and I am determined I will get to the corner before I do anything else.As you can see there is not that far to go so my aim is to get there before the next Sal update.
Please take the time to go visit the others in the group and see what they are up to as we all do different things.
Avis, Claire, Gun, Carole, LucyAnn, Kate, Jess, Sue, Constanze, Debbierose, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Helen, Steph, Linda, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Hayley, Tony, Megan, Catherine, Deborah, Connie
Hope you enjoy Hugs
I hate stitching borders too, I usually try to bribe myself with the promise of a nicer bit of sewing! It’s a very pretty border 🙂

That is what I am doing lol. Once I get to the bottom I can do some on my Kokeshi dolls again, and then maybe even a flower before tackling the other side.

It does look tricky with all the greens but it’ll be worth the effort. Keep going!

I will keep going Avis, mainly because its not an option to scream “no more” lol.

The corner is in sight, what a great goal for next time. I always get motivated by those visual end points too. Happy stitching to you, what a great feeling it will be to knock that part off!

Yes Kathy visual aids are a great bonus which is why I stitched the outer plain border. Once I had stitched it then it did not look as much as I had thought it would so I am feeling hopeful.

I know what you mean about the borders. My Christmas ornaments all have the same checkerboard borders and I’m just bored of them already (and I’ve only stitched 2 of 12 blocks). At least you’re working down the boarder as you work down the pattern and not saving the border for the end, you might go mad then! Great progress 🙂

So true, as the song goes they would be “coming to take me away ha ha”, if I had to tackle that border all in one go.

You are almost there and then you can work on the fun stuff. Sometimes we just need to just get the boring stuff out of the way, so we can play 😀
Looks great.

Very true, next after the corner will be a flower before moving to the right side border.

I actually like stitching borders haha but if it makes you feel any better I’m really loving this. The colours are great and I’m looking forward to seeing it progress

Thank you, and I know it needs the border to tie it all together so just a little but often (well reasonably often) hopefully will eventually get me there.

Borders can be a bore sometimes! I hope you can get yours done and over with soon!

It’s really not far at all now. You can do it, and we’re all cheering you on.

That is the wonderful thing about this group. Everyone is behind you and for that reason you feel the need to strive and achieve things you may put off without them. They are such a great bunch.

I know exactly what you mean. Without them, I’d never complete a stitching project 🙂

Not far to go now. And from experience, you do just have to find s way of getting through the bits you don’t like so much! Well done, and hopefully we see a finished corner next time!

Its the carrot on a stick method for me Catherine. Once I get to the corner I can go back to doing some on Kokeshi dolls lol. No matter how old you get the chance for a reward always helps.

I agree with Terri ^^ and the border is really going to finish the piece off well.

Very true Claire. I keep promising myself little rewards when I achieve the next bit. That and this fantastic group are what keep me going.

I share your pain, I’m forcing myself to stitch the border of my dragon before I get back to it, somehow although it’s still just crosses it’s not as fun haha.

Very true but I keep my self going with little rewards lol – I can have a bit of chocolate when I finished this leaf etc. and when I get to the corner I can do something else for a while

Sometimes I have to trick myself — or treat myself? — to get through part of a project I’m not enjoying… but you’re about to TURN A CORNER! 🙂 Great progress!!!

I do this – my incentive at the moment is that when I get to the corner I can go back to stitching my Kokeshi dolls for a bit lol. Guess it keeps us amused.
