Sunday the 1st of July was my lovely husbands 70th birthday and I will start with showing you the card I made for him. Whilst chatting over lunch that day the idea of getting away for a while whilst the weather was still so nice came up. Also recently we have been talking about trying to visit all the different counties, as anyone in the UK or who has travelled in the UK will know they are all so varied. We had not been to Norfolk as adults (both had visited as children but couldn’t really remember much apart from the beaches), so after lunch hubby went on the computer and booked a room at Church Farm in Horsford, about 4 miles from Norwich. We packed some things in the evening and set off the next morning. This being the reason there was no post last Wednesday. It is a lovely county with some beautiful countryside and lots of the flintstone houses it is famous for. Not as flat as I had imagined though certainly not as hilly as Derbyshire. I thought you may enjoy seeing some pictures so here we go.
We will revisit this county at some point as there were a number of things we just never got time to do – a trip on the Burr Railway and a trip on the Broads are two of the things for next times visit.
I of course took some stitching but didn’t get much more done – I took dolls this time. Though there is still a fair bit to go, the end is coming into sight now and spurring me on.
last time and this time
Very few cards have been done and here is what has been achieved in the last two weeks.
I hope you have enjoyed sharing my little adventure and my crafting progress. Thank you for taking the time to visit and I would love to hear from you if you have a minute to leave a comment.
Hugs
I haven’t been to Norfolk for years either, having seen your photos I really need to rectify that! I love the hares too 🙂

The hares are both an exhibition throughout the town and a competition. There are 50 hares in Norwich and 18 more out and about (the out and about ones are looking to the sky and called Stargazer hares. As we did not know the city we thought it would be a fun way to discover it by looking for the hares, and it was although we only got about 20 out of the 50. Also it was a lovely way to meet local people as we were studying the map they were stopping and asking if we had got the one just round the corner from, or just opposite different places – we may have actually got more if we had spent less time chatting but as soon as we said why we were looking for the hares and that we didn’t know the city or area they were advising us of all sorts of other things to do and places to see – which is why we need a second visit lol.

Thanks so much Catherine. Yes and next time we will not be looking for hares but we will have a far better idea of where we are going and what we wish to see more of.

It was and if you read the reply to craftycreek’s comment (2 above yours) you can read why the hares are there..

Margaret some were taken at Blickling Hall Estate (Nat Trust) and some at Fellbrigg (another NT place). The footpath walk was from Blakeny Point to Blakeny Village and the village is where all the cottages with the beautiful Hollyhocks were. The castle and city views plus hare were in Norwich and the last ones I think were in either Holt of Aylsham. I hope that helps xx
