Wonderful Wednesday – 10

We have been experiencing some beautiful hot and sunny weather here in the UK. The upside is lots of time to laze in the garden or visit a local Garden Centre for a leisurely cream tea.  The downside is that there has not been much crafting done.

Update on stitching  first last weeks and then this weeks progress:-

On the card front I have done a parchment card.  The border was rather fragile on this one and I managed to break a bit off towards the end of cutting it – hence you will notice an extra butterfly on the bottom border lol.

DSCF6132 I also made a couple of get well cards but the first got posted before I remembered to take a picture.  14

On to Christmas cards and this weeks challenge was to make a fairy cards.  I made two.  Though  the first looks like she could be a bit on an imp lol.

As I did not join this group until week 16, I had already missed 15 challenges and along with a few others who joined later we are slowly going to try and do the challenges we missed.  Week 1 was Jack Frost or Frosty windows – I chose the latter using a mix of Glossy Accents and glitter to add the frost on this lovely Pollyanna Pickering image.66 week 1

For Week 2 the theme was Gnomes, Pixies or Elves.  67 week 2 Lastly I made this card just because I liked the image and wanted to colour it in.65

Tonight I am going to put The Dolls away and out will come Garden Alphabet so I can spend a week working on my SAL piece – unfortunately this time I do not have the delight of watching a little flower come to life as I am going to be working on the border, not my favourite bit which is why I am way behind with it.  So there will be no update on the dolls next week.

All for now, so thank you for reading and please leave a comment if you have a minute.  I love to hear from you even if you just say Hello.

Hugs

About stitchingranny

I am one of those people who need to have busy hands so whether its stitching or papercrafting, I am always doing something. I also love being in the garden, though hubby does most of the work there these days.

Cute cards, as usual Helen. I really liked the pick up truck get well card. ♥️ Borders are challenging, aren’t they. I am making my self do 2 butterflies each day on my quilt, or I know it will sit and languish! The good news is that once I sit down I often do three, so that is a bonus!

I often wonder if having lots of projects on the go slows the progress or by flitting you get enthused to go back to each one??? I still can’t decide!!!

    • I think are correct on both points. I used to have a lot of wips (a dozen was not unusual), and worked on a strict rota basis, which kept me motivated and I enjoyed working that way. However, as I enjoy more time consuming projects I found it frustrating that I was not getting far with anything. Now I usually just have two or three on the go – this way I don’t get bored (especially when doing things like the border on Garden Alphabet), as there is always an alternative but with fewer projects on the go I do find I can see progress.

    • Thank you Kate, I will be doing my SAL post tomorrow as we have been away for a week and only got back today. I did take the dolls with me but it was too hot to be stitching much so there is not a lot more progress, though I do hope to have some more for next Wednesday.
