Wonderful Wednesday – five

Good morning to you all.  I don’t have a lot to share this week, I have had a severe kidney infection and not much got done.  A little more knitting I am now working the 8th of 12 blocks so I am two thirds of the way there.Arrabella Shawl 2018.5.23

On the card front I made half a dozen Children’s cards, though the toppers for the boys (cut from left over wallpaper) were already cut out. so they didn’t take much doing.  I made the two girls cards yesterday.  I have had these images for ages, the blue one was a free download but the yellow one I scanned from one of the birthday cards I had as a child.  If you find old cards then scan them – I also scanned lots of my children’s birth, birthday and christening cards

Starting with the boys  –  first for the tots

and for those a little more grown up –

For the girls I made shaped cards, as you cannot tell on a flat picture and I couldn’t get a brilliant shot of them standing I am sharing both images from each.

There is glitter on the dress frills and i added bows, on the blue girl I also added some pearl drops in iced pink to the dots on her dress.

Lastly the only two Christmas cards for this week (made after finishing blogging last week) were recycled ones.  The first I just trimmed round to make the border smaller and added sparkles glitter to the branches and a little glaze on the water and popped it on a ready made card base which I edged by stamping and embossing.  3132                    The second was already glittered so I just domed a little snowflake acetate over the picture and added it to another card base.

All for now, thank you for reading and also for the comments – I love to hear from you.

About stitchingranny

I am one of those people who need to have busy hands so whether its stitching or papercrafting, I am always doing something. I also love being in the garden, though hubby does most of the work there these days.

I must be a tom-boy, because I think that first set of cards are brilliant! Especially the double decker bus!

Great reuse and updating Helen, hope you are feeling much better now!

  3. Still rather tender across the area of my right kidney but slowly getting there. Unfortunately I don’t have very good kidney functions so I am used to getting infection, just this time it was really bad and caused a lot of pain. xx thanks for your kindness as always Kathy xx
