So here is the next UFO on my hit list. It is called Garden Alphabet. The alphabet and border were freebies from EMS Designs, some years ago. I arranged the designs and added other bits to fill it out so that it hopefully will fit in an old fire screen I have. Although I am calling it a UFO it was worked on at reasonable intervals until I joined this SAL when Gracious Era became my focus. Now I am hoping that this will also become a complete work soon. I have taken this picture this morning and hope to make a new start on it within the next few days.
As I spent two of the last three weeks on holiday, enjoying some real sunshine and warmth in Lanzarote, as opposed to the dull grey and wet day we returned too, all I have to share with you on this SAL Sunday is my holiday stitch “Wildlife of the Hedgerow. Here is how it looked after our last holidayand here it is now.The owl is almost complete now, so hopefully two or three more holidays will have me to the half way point. So now I have another incentive for booking more holidays, although I still think the main incentive is getting away from our cold and wet English winters.
This SAL group is so wonderful and supportive and is so different to any other SAL I have seen. Everyone is working on their own individual project (so no pressure to keep up with anyone else). There are some big, some small and some very complicated things, but the one thing we all have in common is wanting support as we stitch our way through our projects and hopefully clear our baskets of UFO’s. Please if you are having a short break, then take the time to sit back and browse all the wonderful things that are going on, and if you would love to join us then please contact Avis (first name on the list below).
