… and I am Happy Dancing. Yes roll out the red carpet and blow on your trumpets to herald the finished Gracious Era. This was started on Boxing Day 13 years ago .
EDITED TO ADD – THE SNOW IS ALL FRENCH KNOTS AND NOT BEADS LOL.No not framed (only in the picture lol), not even washed and pressed yet. I used frames from my Serif Craft Artist 2, just to give a nicer appearance.
As we go on holiday on Thursday and I am not going to get a lot of chance to stitch beforehand, I will give you an update on my holiday stitching next time. Next time I will also introduce you to the next UFO to appear in place of this one. I am going to be replacing it with a piece called Garden Alphabet, which at the present time is about half done.
Do not forget to go visit the others in this Sal. Everyone works on their own project and at their own pace, so an ideal place to come if you are struggling with a UFO or a large piece of work you feel you need encouragement with. Also makes visiting the other blogs exciting as everyone has something different and there are some fantastic things out there. If you would like to join us then please contact Avis (first link below) where you will be met with a warm welcome.

What a lovely finish! The beads make quite an effect!

Thank you, however there are no beads on this one so I am assuming you mean all the French knots that make the falling snow. They took ages to do and I did try to vary the size a little for better effect and was quite pleased with the overall appearance of them.

As I just stated in the above comment Claire – no beads just hundreds of French knots for the snow. Luckily that is something I do not mind stitching.

This was a major happy dance for you! What a great feeling to have this completed and ready to be framed before the holidays!! Will you keep it or gift it?

This one is definitely a keeper. My Dad passed the week before Christmas 13 years ago and the last Christmas gift he bought me was this and a companion one. At that time he thought he would see them finished but it wasn’t to be, so there is no way I could part with them, and once I have cleared my UFO’s I will do the other one and hope it doesn’t take as long.

Oh, well done! It must be so satisfying to finish something that’s been going for so long, and such a spectacular finish too! I’m sure I wouldn’t have had the patience to make all those French knots….

Thanks Kate, I do not mind stitching them in the least bit and it was fun watching the snow move from one side to the other.
