Sal Sunday – Jan 2017

Hello everyone,

Thanks to all those who sent good wishes regarding my eye, which I think is at last on the mend now.  I do still have days when it seems to do nothing but run, but I go back to the hospital on the 8th February so hopefully any unresolved issues will be cleared up then.

One of my friends had decided to do an ornament stitch each month this year and whilst talking we thought it would be a good idea for me to do some ornaments to keep my stitching going – but using a larger count of fabric.  I decided on 25 count which seems a lot larger though is still fairly fine. So here is my first little Robin Ornament 1-january-robin

I have also done two more though not finished them yet, the blurred bit in the picture is where I had got a fingerprint on my camera lol, and here are two more, stitching done but not made up yet.

I have another already to stitch but I am not going to go back to my normal stitching until after I have my hospital visit and hopefully get new glasses too as I know there is some I have stitched so badly there has to be a frogging session before I get back to normal.

If you have enjoyed looking at my stitching, then please pop along and view the others in the Sal.  We come from all over the world and there are many different projects and styles

Hugs

About stitchingranny

I am one of those people who need to have busy hands so whether its stitching or papercrafting, I am always doing something. I also love being in the garden, though hubby does most of the work there these days.

what gorgeous stitching! I laughed out loud when you said you were using 25 count despite eye problems. I really need to concentrate when stitching on evenweave/linen these days, and the only fabric that’s easy on my eyes is 14 count aida lol.

Good grief, eye surgery and you still managed to produce those three pieces! What dedication, and they’re amazing, considering the circumstances. I wish you a full recovery and plenty of stitching time 🙂

Such a cute ornament! The robin is actually one of my favorite bird visitors 🙂 They just reappeared here in TX, so maybe that means Spring is on the way ❤ It's a great idea to stitch up one ornament a month, because they do take time and you need a good amount to really standout on the tree. I may have to do this one year! Also, I love the thumb print! haha, at first I thought it was a fuzzy effect (there are filters that do this), but yours is natural 😀 Happy to hear you are doing better as well!

  11. Thanks Christina, I think TX is Texas – hope I’m right. I was told you had cardinal birds rather than our traditional robins out in the USA, but I could be wrong. The cheeky little robin that visits us in our garden is happiest when hubby has been weeding or hoeing and has unearthed lots of little insects for him but he has to be everyone’s favourite I think.
