NAMIBIA (more pictures)

This was where we stayed for two nights, on a lovely little island in Namibia.  The next two pictures are the view we had across the river.

We had a day and a half exploring along the river and visiting a local village, where the staff at the lovely Safari Lodge, came from.  This was a beautiful hotel and so peaceful as all the chalets were well spaced out and facing the river.

So here goes with some more pictures.

We had an extra passenger on our boat but he was a little camera shy and turned his back every time I took a picture.

Now have you ever wondered about the Loch Ness Monster, well below I think I have found the answer

They cross the river in the morning to one of the islands where the grass is not so dry and in the late afternoon they cross back again.  The guide told us that they are never 100% sure which part of the river they will cross but if you spotted them on an island in the afternoon you had a fair chance of seeing them swimming back.  Not such a rare site then, but we were thrilled to see this, as although I knew elephants could swim I had never seen one actually doing it before. One of the many highlights for me.

Next time it will be back to Botswana to fly down to the Okavango Delta and even more pictures.
