A Special Birthday

My lovely daughter was 40 on Sunday and this is the card I made for her.

The main body of the card is done in parchement, using one piece of natural and another that I Dorse coloured in blue.
I added Tattered Lace die cut corners (free with a TL mag)

and a die cut butterfly from a Memory Box dies

and lastly though I have been told you cannot heat emboss parchment, I stamped flowers on to the left over blue parchment using Dreamies flower stamps and then embossed them using wow powder in Totally Teal. I do not know why you cannot heat emboss it as I had no problems at all. I then cut out the flowers and added them, some glitter and some gems.

It actually sounds quite simple but it took me four days to do this card.

About stitchingranny

I am one of those people who need to have busy hands so whether its stitching or papercrafting, I am always doing something. I also love being in the garden, though hubby does most of the work there these days.

That is a stunning card Helen and I am sure your daughter was thrilled with it. You are so creative and clever with your card design, must have a lesson from you one day. xx

  2. We never did get to have a card day but you know I would welcome the chance to have a day with you.
